In an insult to every part-timer, the company says it will not pay double time to part-timers who work on Black Friday.

Black Friday is a holiday and part-timers will receive holiday pay for it, as long as you work two days during the week. 

But the company says it will not pay part-timers who work on Black Friday double time if you work  on the holiday.

This is a slap in the face to every part-timer. Local 804 is taking on this contract violation through the grievance procedure. 

In the meantime, here is what every part-timer needs to know: 

  1. Black Friday is a paid holiday. You will be paid holiday pay as long as you work two other days in the week. 
  2. You cannot be forced to work on Black Friday.
  3. The company will not pay you double time if you work on Black Friday. Local 804 is fighting this contract violation in the grievance procedure.
