The IBT has issued a statement saying we will not endorse any candidate in the upcoming presidential election due to all candidates not giving firm commitments on issues important to Teamsters.

I applaud the process.

After three polls covering a six-month period of time very, very, very few members even participated.

Personally I’ve always felt that endorsements mean little in the grand scheme of things. 

It’s very rare to be able to change one’s political views.

I’m privileged to represent 8,000 diverse members in Local 804 but I wouldn’t presume to speak for all of them.

I do focus on results, integrity, vision and what a candidate has and will do for labor.

Many local leaders and joint councils are coming out and endorsing Vice President Harris.

I can absolutely speak for myself personally in endorsing Vice President Harris.

I endorse someone who saved Teamster pensions.

Who is opposed to Right to Work.

Who has lowered the cost of prescription drugs for seniors, many of whom are retired Union members.

Who has helped push through a massive infrastructure bill creating thousands of new jobs. Union jobs.

Some people, it seems, will vote against their own interests and the interests of the American people.

I will never ever endorse a convicted felon, adulterer, insurrectionist, narcissist, and cheat who devises conspiracy theories and who laughs about firing those trying to organize.

I will never endorse a man who lies about his knowledge of Project 2025 and the Heritage Foundation when 140 people of his staff and associates helped write it.

I will never endorse anyone who disrespects women and people of color.

I will never endorse a candidate who has eroded, and will continue to, the NLRB. (See Amazon and Texas right now).

I will never endorse someone who supports National Right to Work and has a “concept of a plan” on an issue as fundamental as healthcare.

I will never endorse a candidate and his running mate who claims people are eating pets with no proof, just to foster hatred and fear.

I will never endorse a candidate that kowtows to dictators.

I will never endorse a fear-mongerer that blatantly lies, is friends with a race-baiting sociopath like Laura Loomer and has an inner circle of Stephen Miller, Steve Bannon and Marjorie Taylor Greene.

We all have the right to choose.

My choice is clear.

As a Union Leader who takes into account the needs of Labor and as an American, I personally endorse Future President Kamala Harris.
