The NY Hero act is supported by more than 100 labor, community, and safety organizations including: the Teamsters, Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU), UFCW 2013, New York Committee for Occupational Safety and Health (NYCOSH), and ALIGN NY.

It would mandate the Departments of Labor and Health to implement standards for workplace safety, enforceable through significant fines, including protocols on testing, PPE, social distancing, hand hygiene, disinfection, and engineering controls.

More than 20,000 Amazon employees have contracted COVID-19. But Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has made a killing off of the pandemic. His personal wealth has grown by more than $90 billion since March.

Amazon's low wages and sweatshop working conditions are a threat to union jobs and health and safety at UPS. We stand with Amazon workers and labor and community groups who are standing up to corporate greed at Amazon.

We're all in this together.
