The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) is overturning policies that made it easier for nonunion workers to organize and join the Teamsters.

On February 14, NLRB Acting General Counsel William Cowen started the process to end the ban on captive audience meetings during organizing drives. That ban was first won by workers in a case against Amazon.

Amazon has used captive audience meetings to try and intimidate workers out of unionizing.

Cowen is also moving to have the Cemex decision overturned, which requires employers who commit illegal unfair labor practices to bargain with the union.

The Teamsters have used Cemex to claim bargaining rights at multiple Amazon locations.
