UPS started Surepost again. We believe that they are circumventing the redirect language in the contract.

Local 804 has created a guide for enforcing Surepost language. Read and download it below this message.

If ANYONE sees a Surepost package delivered to a commercial location, THAT IS A SUREPOST GRIEVANCE.

If ANYONE sees the Post Office deliver a Surepost next to or at your delivery or sees a Surepost delivery with a UDI spa label, THAT IS A GRIEVANCE.

Any oversized/overweight Surepost package should be redirected. Packages that are over 10 pounds are overweight. The maximum package size is two cubic feet (about the size of a microwave or golf bag).

Please get your steward or BA the tracking info on that package.

If anyone delivers to a Post Office and the Surepost package is over the weight limit or the dimension limit THAT IS A GRIEVANCE and contractually you are supposed to bring it to the clerk to be redirected to a UPS truck.

This includes preloaders who are loading the packages.

It is all our responsibility to hold the company accountable.

A retired high level UPS manager was asked "Why can’t you conduct business within the parameters of the contract?"

His response 10 years ago was: "If we worried about every arbitration or lawsuit we wouldn’t get anything done."

That says it all. We need all hands on deck.
