Our International Union has approved strike action by Local 804 because the company continues to illegally violate an arbitrator's order. Local 804 is doing everything we can to avoid a strike while getting UPS to respect our members and our contract. Here’s what you need to know.

Our contract gives Local 804 the legal right to strike if the company violates arbitration decisions. (Article 18, Section 4).

An arbitrator ordered UPS to cease and desist from violating our contract by denying part-time employees their 3-hour minimum guarantee, but UPS continues to violate the decision. The company’s actions may force a legal strike.

The company could solve this issue tomorrow by abiding by the arbitrator’s order and honoring the daily guarantee for part-timers.

Instead, management is issuing empty threats to take disciplinary action against members. This is a scare tactic, pure and simple. Any strike called by Local 804 will be legal and authorized. Members will not be subject to discipline.

Instead of issuing empty threats, UPS should follow the arbitrator’s order and cease and desist from violating the daily guarantee for part-time employees under the contract. It's a simple fix.

Stay tuned for updates from Local 804. In the meantime, tell management you are not afraid of their scare tactics, because any strike by Local 804 will be legal. The best way to avoid a strike is for UPS to respect our contract.

One union. One goal!
